Botany Department

The subject Botany is one of the main subject of the faculty of science. Considering the importance of its knowledge and application, the subject was introduced topre- degree cource in the college on june 1970. The founder Teacher of the Department is Shri. Kulkarni he was followed by Shri. S.M. Vibhutee, Shri. S.R. Hadpad,Prof. Kalmat And prof. Shirshyd. I joined to this Dept. in the year 2009 At present the department has classes up to III Year B.SC. level. As it is a rural based college. The subject has the work load of Two Full time teacher. Botany department is well equipped with the instruments to teach theory and practicals to the students as per the present syllabi.

To upgrade the knosledge and to give new experience in the life of the students the department is organizing one long and short study tours every year. In Future the Department is interested to start plant pathology and Tissue culture laboratory, We are also planning to develop Botanical garden and horticultural Nursery to provide disease resistant seedling to poor farmers of Akkalkot Taluka.

Internal Evolution System adopted:

Apart from the University Examinations the Department has adopted continuous Internal Evaluation system which helps to get Feedback from the students. For this the Department conducts Periodical Tests, Unit wise Class Test, Mid-term Examinations, Pre-annual Exams, Group Discussion, Class- seminars etc.

Teaching Aids Used

Test books, Black-board, Educational Cds, DVD Films, and Internet LCD Projector etc.

Teaching methods

Lecturing, Group Discussion, Class-seminars, Learner central interactive teaching method supplemented by the use of ICT.

Every faculty member prepares Topic wise/ Unit wise teaching plan at the beginning of the Academic year and to act upon it.
